Bioforest operation “Occhione” is a multi-year pilot project on environmental education in the Middle Schools of the Province of Pordenone, Italy.

In Italy, BIOFOREST cooperates in a Multi-Year Pilot Project on environmental education in the Middle Schools of the Province of Pordenone, known as “Operation Occhione”. The project is aimed at developing a nature laboratory to study the local flora and fauna, to plant local tree seeds in vases, plant them out in school nurseries and then in areas offered by Bioforest and local Municipal Administrations, which are increasingly interested in and aware of the issue.

The pupils of the Middle School of Cordenons have already planted out 600 plants in the upper part of the Resurgence of Vinchiaruzzo, while the Primary School Antonio Rosmini and the Middle School P.P. Pasolini of Pordenone have planted out about one hundred seedlings taken from the BIOFOREST nursery to start the first reforestation of the “Wood of San Marco” situated in the “Quartieri Villanova” area near the Shopping Centre of Pordenone.
